I Won, I Won!
Stunned. Yes, I was stunned to actually win a contest!
Gordon Runyan over at Incrediblog recently conducted a contest. The contest consisted of a two part question:
First: Read the quote below. It is an oath of service taken by a specific organization. You tell me which organization that is.
"...I furthermore promise and declare that I will when opportunity present, make and wage relentless war, secretly or openly, against all heretics, Protestants and Liberals, as I am directed to do, to extirpate and exterminate them from the face of the whole earth; and that I will spare neither age, sex or condition; and that I will hang, waste, boil, flay, strangle and bury alive these infamous heretics, rip up the stomachs and wombs of their women and crush their infants' heads against the walls, in order to annihilate forever their execrable race. That when the same cannot be done openly, I will secretly use the poisoned cup, the strangulating cord, the steel of the poniard or the leaden bullet, regardless of the honor, rank, dignity, or authority of the person or persons..."
The second part of the contest is to tell me which famous American statesman said this:
"If ever there was a body of men who merited eternal damnation on earth and in hell, it is this [organization mentioned above.]"
Well, I took a shot and got it right! I had to be more 'specific' with the first quote but even managed to get that one right.
Do you know the answers? Isn't this fun?
Here is what I won:
Prowl by Gordon Runyan. I can't wait to read it, I should be recieving it in the mail in a few days. Thanks, Gordon!
