Seeing Reality?

From the Willow Creek Leadership Summit Website:

A good leader does more than just scale the next mountain. Leaders must cast a vision so compelling others can see it too. Recruit teams. Encourage innovation. Build solid infrastructures. Create a community. Motivate change. Reach down to pull others up. These are the jobs of a leader; taking new ground, not somewhere else, but right where you are.

Come join us August 10-12, as more than 70,000 men and women gather together for a worldwide event, dedicated to strengthening and sharpening their leadership gifts and abilities. Together we'll unite our hearts and minds to keep dreaming new dreams and to gain new skills for making them a reality. http://www.willowcreek.com/events/leadership/overview.asp

Gee, and to think that all Paul, Peter, James, John, Matthew and all the others did is to preach the GOSPEL to build the New Testament church.

I wonder why it did not occur to them to go to the brightest minds at the time and get advice on building God's church?

2 Timothy 4:1-4
I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.
